pride.

This weekend was pride and New York city was full of just that. I'm proud to live in a city that celebrates equality in such a big way! This pride was extra special because of the recent progress this country has made towards equality. We're not there yet but let's keep fighting for each others rights and one day, we'll make it.

New York City MUSTS.

There is an endless list of places you should eat in New York City... It is impossible to try them all. So, I'll keep my must try list during a short New York visit to a minimum. Normally, I eat very healthy. I love my fruits and veggies, never eat fried food and do my best to keep desert to a minimum (that's the hardest part). But, sometimes you MUST make exceptions. Exceptions like, Momofuku (left) and Shake Shack (right). Momofuku Milk Bar is a New York craze and my oh my is it delicious. The cereal milk soft serve is a must, it's their signature. It tastes exactly like your milk when you drink it once the cereals gone. Sounds weird but once you taste it you'll understand it's goodness. You can also find odd things like corn cookies (haven't tried those yet but the chocolate cookies sure are scrumptious).
Now, Shake Shack. I'm not a burger girl but I have heard that their burgers are to die for and I know from experience that their hot dogs are amazing. There are tons of locations all over the city so make sure not to miss out. My best piece of advice for Shake Shack is do it and do it big. Burger fries and a shake are all a must (although the shake may be swapped for a concrete which you see next to my hot dog there). Come to this city hungry and you're guaranteed to leave happy.

my picks from resort 2014 collections.

JW Anderson showed us bold silhouettes and neutral colors. What's not to like?
The Row (left) never fails in suiting and Veronica Beard (right) gave us this amazing, lightweight neoprene leather jacket. The picture doesn't do it justice... Once you touch it there's no going back.

Sass and Bide gave us a powerful look with the bold images and the black and white.

Rag and Bone did great as usual with great leather (right) and lots of burgundy, my personal favorite color.

A subtle graphic mini never hurt anyone (left) by: Phillip Lim and from Zimmerman a low cut maxi with fringing.

A new love for me, Ohne Titel brought the heat with lots o' leather like this little number on the left. The ever so talented Thakoon didn't disappoint as shown with this pairing on the right.

Always a gown go to for me, J Mendel proved that pink isn't always bad...

Nothing to complain about with bold black and whites from, Honor.

My girl, Jenni Kayne never fails (left). For that matter, neither does Stella. These two do no wrong.

Even a little bit of leather is good: Helmut Lang (left) You may know him for his bags but this monochromatic snakeskin look from Reed Krakoff proves us bags aren't his only hit.

Balenciaga... need I say more?

Wang and Tibi give us a rule to follow. Pastels only work one way. With leather. Obviously.

A personal favorite, ALC kills it with those leather track pants paired with the pastel jacket. Once again following my rule from above (left) and every girl needs the perfect black leather jacket (right).

Caitlin & John.

Last month, I photographed Caitlin and John's wedding in Illinois.
There was so much joy and love this day and it was clear that
these two were made for each other.  I wish you two a
life just like this day, full of love, laughter, happiness and great
dance moves.

chicago to new york.

Exactly a month ago I moved from Chicago to New York for
the summer to intern at Harper's Bazaar. I am a photographer
with a passion for fashion and art. The first month in this city has
been full of new people, great places and fun times. Through this
blog I will post about fashion, art, food and things to do and
see in New York and the other places I live and visit.
This is those white walls.
