IONA: Weekend Wear

Today's the day, look 3 of 3! I love this look for any day time
weekend occasion such as the farmers market or the movies.
This Timo Weiland hoodie is super comfortable with awesome
knit and embroidered detail! I paired it here with the Xirena
Bobby Tee in white, Mother The Looker jean and the Bob
Jéróme Dreyfuss cross body bag in Bordeaux.

Like I mentioned in yesterday's post, IONA is having an epic
denim sale just this month! Get 20% your favorite pair of
Mother's or NSF hand dyed denim OR take a pair of both home
with 30% off both pairs!

While you're in, make sure to check out all the pieces from this
weekend's posts plus all of the other amazing fall pieces.
You're sure to find at least one that you'll want to take home!

A huge thanks to the team at Iona for this fall fashion feature
and my new jeans! It was a pleasure working with you fab
ladies!

IONA: Casual Fridays

Day 2 means look 2 from one of my favorite stores in
Madison, Iona! This monochrome look is perfect for
almost any occasion. Pair it with pumps for casual
Friday, or dinner at your fave restaurant. Or, throw on
your best pair of beaten up sneakers for a day of errands.

One thing that's a must for me is comfort. If I'm not
going to feel comfortable in it, I don't want to wear it.
(there are very few exceptions to this rule) No problem
here. I'm wearing the softest, best fitting Bobby Top by
Xirena. I loved it so much that it is now hanging in my
closet. It comes in 3 colors, so don't worry, there's one
for you too!

This ALC CL Jacket is to die for. Not only does it have
a hint of stretch that makes this light fabric lay perfectly
but it has leather detail... You understand now, right?

The mix of leather, pony hair and suede in this stunning
Jéróme Dreyfuss cross body bag gives this monochrome
outfit (or any outfit for that matter) great little kick!
I love turning your outfit up with cool accessories and
this bag hits the nail on the head.

As long as we were on the topic of comfort, let me talk
about this pair of Mothers. The perfect rise, the right
amount of stretch, simple butt pockets, and the perfect
shade of grey. Jeans that I love aren't easy for me to find,
but I love The Looker Jean in Rebels and Lovers. Thanks
to the lovelies at Iona, they are now a part of my wardrobe
and I think I've worn them every day since I brought them
home. Shhhh... don't tell.

Last but certainly not least, this super cozy Helmut Lang
Lux Jersey Hat goes with practically everything and warms
up this outfit perfectly. I'm a sucker for warm beanies... my
collection is much too large. If you're in need of a(nother)
winter beanie, look no further. I say it's justifiable when
you live in Wisconsin.

top gun.

Olive green is a fall favorite of mine. Add on some gold
hardware and I'm sold, literally. When this vest went on
final markdown from shopbop I couldn't help but add another
piece of dark green outerwear to my wardrobe.

I must admit, I kept thinking about Top Gun with my army
green vest and big aviators. (but was less bad ass, of course)
Jazz those up a bit with two fall favorites, patchwork denim
and a pair of mules and you've got yourself great transition
outfit. Easy enough to throw on a sweater or hoodie under
the vest once the temperature starts to drop.

fall must haves. part I

As fall quickly approaches, it's time for us to approach our
closets and assess our wardrobes. For me, fall is the best
season for fashion. You can layer up your iconic pieces and
do some serious accessorizing.

Let's start with this short checklist of things you need this
fall... Don't worry, it's only the beginning.

A cool cardigan: Choose something out of the ordinary...
Oversized, beaten up, or colorful, make it a little different!
This specific cardigan is from Iona, one of my favorite
stores in Madison.

Distressed boyfriend jeans: This trend is nothing new but
isn't going anywhere! Throw on your most comfortable pair
of boyfriend jeans for a go to look for fall.

High booties: These are key for rocking those baggy jeans,
they give you the little oomf you need for this totally cool,
comfy outfit. This is one of my favorite pairs from shopbop.

Cozy beanie: This is my favorite part about cold weather.
A beanie adds a great touch to any outfit and is the perfect
accessory to keep you warm on those chilly mornings come
fall.

boyfriend dressing

One trend I love but struggle with a bit is dressing like a boy(friend).
At first, I was puzzled by the baggy jeans, baggy shirt look being worn by
all the hottest (tiniest) women in fashion. Why would they want to hide
their amazing figures? I thought to myself. Then I tried on this pair of
J Brands a couple years ago and realized exactly why... What's not to
love about soft, baggy, super comfy jeans? They work any way, with sneakers
or heels, an old t-shirt or silk blouse. Wear em, love em... you can even
dance in em, if you want to.

an apple a day...

I think summer is tough to dress for... How in the world are you supposed to look cute
when it's 90 degrees and sunny with 100% humidity? In my opinion, we don't really have
a choice but to wear shorts and a t-shirt or tank top almost every day with those sun dresses
filtered in. Frankly, no matter what you wear you'll still be sweating. BUT, the key to turning
your light summer outfit into a stylish one is all in the choice of accessories.

Step 1: Funk it up with some rad shoes.
Your feet are rarely the first thing people look at so don't be afraid to do something a little crazy!
Step 2: A wide brimmed hat.

It keeps the sun out of your eyes and instantly adds some style points.
Step 3: A great bag.
Have some fun here. Add in some cool hardware, texture and color. Whichever fits your style.
Step 4: Jewelry...
Stack on those rings and bracelets for an instant refresher to your outfit.
Step 5: Have fun with it!
Wear things because you love them and don't care what other people think!
